Friday the 20th of August, marks the successful completion of the Kwinana Swift Power Station as the Minister of Energy Peter Collier officially opened the plant.
The peaking plant is the state’s fastest power station supporting peak periods of electricity and down times from renewable energy sources such as wind power.
It will be fuelled by clean natural gas supplied through the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
CTEC Pty Ltd, were the turnkey Engineering Procurement and Construction Contractor (EPC) for the power plant build. Over 12 months CTEC productively managed 1356 workers from 58 different companies to create 120MW of Open Cycle Power for the SWIS, (South West Interconnected System).

The site HSEQ was highly effective with a great reporting culture leading to no environmental Incidents, no industrial action and only one LTI being from a thumb hit by a hammer.
CTEC provided design, specification and procurement of all plant components as well as construction, commissioning, documentation and reliability and performance testing.
