CTEC has signed a milestone contract with Western Energy to engineer procure and construct the new 120MW power station in Kwinana, WA.
CTEC and Western Energy have been working hand in hand for 3 years now considering numerous configurations until the best fit was found.

“The final product is the best possible energy solution to meet not only the customer’s financial model but also the requirements of the WA Interconnected System (SWIS), “Neil Robinson CEO.

The plant will consist of two PWPS FT8 Gas Turbines in an open cycle arrangement.

Linking to the SWIS it will provide energy to the electricity market at a smaller environmental impact than the conventional power generating utilities.

The project will be of peaking capacity assisting with shortfalls in electricity during peak demand periods.

Work will begin in October 2008 and is expected to finish June 2010 with the option of a long term operations and maintenance contract.

The project will see approximately 150 West Australians employed during the construction phase and a team of O & M specialists after erection.

“This contract will enable our organization to establish itself in the local market and is an essential component for our future growth”, continues Mr Robinson.

CTEC is a global provider of project solutions to the energy utilities sector. Based in Perth CTEC currently operates and maintains two power stations and has over 700 MW of EPC experience.
