2633 Views

In 2008 CTEC signed a milestone contract with Western Energy to engineer procure and construct the new 120MW power station in Kwinana, WA.
Work begun in October 2008 and is reaching the engineering stage with site mobilisation expected mid 2009. The Project is scheduled for completion late 2010 with the option of a long term operations and maintenance contract.
The Project will result in increased reliability of supply during high demand periods and improved security of electricity supply during system emergencies or blackouts.
It is expected to result in lower environmental impacts than those arising from conventional power generating facilities and will link into the South West Interconnected System (SWIS), selling electricity into the competitive electricity market.
The Project will see up to 80 people employed during the construction phase and up to 5 people permanently employed when the Plant is in operation.

CTEC is a global provider of project solutions to the energy utilities sector. Based in Perth CTEC currently operates and maintains two power stations and has over 700 MW of EPC experience.
